Somatic cells. Two groups of identical chromosomes, one inherited from the father and the other inherited from the mother

Somatic cells:
- contains two sets of identical chromosomes (one inherited from the father and another inherited from the mother).
- Two-chromosome group (2 n).
- Produced from the mitosis of somatic cells.
Example: The human cell nucleus contains 46 chromosomes (23 pairs).
