Passive transportation. Active transport. Mass transport. Transmission of molecules or ions across the cell membrane using energy

Passive Transportation:
The movement of materials across the cell membrane without consuming the cell energy.

Active transport:
The process of transmission of molecules or ions against the slope of their concentrations across the cell membrane using energy.

Mass transport:
The transfer of relatively large molecules such as molecules of proteins or cell waste to and from the cell across the cell membrane.
